Approaching the boarders Lightning looked to make sure Shad was following, "This is Dark Forest, right now you and I are the only one inhabiting this dark land. I assume you will be able to make yourself at home quickly. Do as you like for now, when more join us there will have to be more order." She left with a slight nod and walked off into the shadows, she would keep and eye on Shad until she felt she could trust her, which might take a long time...

Shad nodded in understanding, she wished to know more about this demoness, but that could wait. "Where is the water supply?" she asked. Shad bent her head to sniff a mushroom. 'Poisonous,' she thought, 'I'd better watch out for them.' She then grazed the stiff grass.

"There is a merky pond a little way over there but if I were you I would purify it before drinking," she said and walked away. If the mare needed anything else she would have to either come find her or search for it herself. "I will be off now, patrolling, if you need me find me." And with that she left.

"Alright," she said. Shad made her way to the pond, it was large but still murky. 'No wonder,' she laughed to herself, 'Its called 'murky' pond!' She dipped her horn into the shallow waters and let only enough magic out to make the water near her clear. Shad lifted her dripping horn out of the water and took a long cool drink.

Lightning walked past silently taking a peek at her, seeing what she would do to the pond. 'Ah, smart horse, only using enough magic for ones self to drink clear water,' she smirked at her and walked off once again back to the shadows. She walked awhile till she got to the edge of her land and watched the sky.

Shad head shot up, she thought she heard a slight rustle in the trees. Shad looked 'round herself, seeing nothing. 'Probably a squirrel or something,' she thought. Shad turned back to the water and drank the remaining clear of it.
